Makiya Lloyd
Makiya Lloyd is a clinical research assistant at PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at CHOP. Ms. Lloyd is currently working on the Navigating Mental Health for Black Youth with Suicide risk (also known as Pathways to Care) with Dr. Rhonda Boyd. This project seeks to adapt and implement a patient navigation intervention for Black youth in need of outpatient mental health treatment after presenting in the CHOP emergency department with suicide risk.
Ms. Lloyd graduated from Clark University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. During her undergraduate career, she volunteered as a student research assistant for the health equity and storytelling research program, using digital storytelling to improve rates of health care service use among Massachusetts immigrant populations. She plans to pursue a master’s degree and PhD in public health.
