Jason Jones PhD
Jason Jones is a research scientist at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He is also affiliated with The Adolescent Depression Prevention and Treatment Lab (ADePT), The Child and Adolescent Mood Program (CHAMP), and The Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI).
Dr. Jones is a broadly trained child and adolescent development researcher with particular expertise in socioemotional development and family relationships. He has been involved in several large-scale studies of adolescent health and development. Dr. Jones has published empirical articles and reviews on a range of topics, including: parenting, attachment, adolescent substance use, adolescent mental health, psychoneuroimmunology, and developmental models of continuity and change. Working within a risk and resilience framework, his current research aims to identify risk and protective factors, at multiple levels of analysis, that can advance our understanding of the development of psychopathology and inform prevention efforts.
Dr. Jones completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at The Pennsylvania State University, Schreyer Honors College. He received his PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Maryland–College Park, where his dissertation research was funded by a pre-doctoral National Research Service Award (F31) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Prior to coming to CHOP, he completed a two-year NIMH-funded post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.
