New Webinar: Adolescents and E-cigarettes: Trends and What Pediatricians Need to Know
Ninety percent of adult smokers start as teens and consequently, youth are the tobacco industry’s primary target. As pediatric providers and researchers, it’s our responsibility to provide thoughtful approaches to protect youth from the harmful effects of the industry’s deadly, addictive products. PolicyLab researcher Brian Jenssen, MD, MSHP, recorded a webinar in which he discussed trends in child and adolescent e-cigarette use; the research about health consequences of these products; and ways that people can productively talk about e-cigarettes with patients, families and policymakers. Dr. Jenssen also published a commentary in Pediatrics that details the potential harm of up-and-coming “heat-not-burn” tobacco products.
